I AM AWFULLY TIRED.

oh my god.

banquet is NOT a good job. but to gain experience, yes. loads of good, wholesome experience.

the jobs i take on seem to be upscale in difficulty. banquet is impromptu, on-the-spot learning. -_- seriously, i went in with ZERO knowledge. in fact, all the newcomers went in with ZERO knowledge. and all the newcomers had to take care of one table each. i didnt know how to cut the damn steamed garoupa, i didnt know how to use the bloody spoon and fork as a serving gear, i didnt know how to balance the freaking round tray on one hand, i didnt know how to pour red wine in the proper way, i didnt know hard liquor stuff at all. AND I HAD TO DO ALL OF THAT IN ONE NIGHT. i had the CRAZIEST 6 hours of my life just now.

5 minutes into the dinner, 10 people from my table asked me for 10 different kind of drinks. 10 minutes into the dinner, i spilled water on my guest’s sleeve. LOL. no matter what job i take, i always screw up 90% on the first day. -_-

arrived at 4plus, and we worked all the way till 3am. 3am!!! what the fark? in stockings, high heels, and an inch thick of make up plastered on my face. amazing. welcome to the world of banquet casual labour. yep, thats what we’re called; banquet CASUAL LABOUR. lol. its far from casual.

i cant even sleep right now because in 1.5 hours time i have to make my way back to Oriental Hotel for my next working day. whoot!

but seriously, minus the exhuastion, sore limbs, and immense stress, everything else is great. the experience, the people, the management. i learnt so freakin much in just one night!

what i liked the most was after the dinner, when the ballroom had to be cleared and re-set for tomorrow’s function. you literaly see an amazing beautiful ballroom being stripped to nothing, layer by layer. and then see the ballroom transform into a totally different setting, layer by layer.

because the function tonight was a wedding, so everything was WHITE. tomorrow is something else which i dunno, and the whole setting is BLACk. so we had to strip off all the white stuff, change the tables, and put on all the black stuff. everyone does a little(actually, its everyone does a lot each), but the combined effort is totally…. overwhelming. =D

tomorrow is buffet in the morning, thank god. at least i dont have to cut no more fish. or use that stupid fork and spoon as a serving gear. damn. i hope i dont drown anyone in water tomorrow. i am SOOOO lucky that the mister i spilled on was a nice guy. *PHEW*

humm. i need coffee to keep awake. WAKE UP VIVIAN. if you sleep, you wont wake up till your aching body is satisfied with enough sleep.

DAMN I AM TIRED. 😦
